Want to build an app that delivers milk in five minutes? There's an ecosystem ready for you. Payment gateways, incubators, funding, accountants, government programs and auditors who know the rules, it's all there.
Now imagine you want to teach art to 30 kids in your neighborhood. Or you're a collective of women turning bags of cloth scraps into beautiful hand bags so they don't end up in a landfill. You want to set this up as a nonprofit to access some funding.
Suddenly, everything gets difficult.
Funders expect three-year plans for your two-month proposal. Compliance advice costs more than your whole budget. A single job post on LinkedIn costs ₹1,500 a day. And if you have one urgent question, say, about a sexual harassment complaint or a tax filing, nobody will answer it without asking you to sign up for a webinar first.
We started aikyam because we believe it should be just as easy for change makers to succeed as it is for startups.

How We Work, The Chai Ki Dukaan Way
When you walk into a tea shop and ask for one chai, nobody says "bring nine more people and then we'll make your Tea."
They just make you Tea.
That's how we work. Most funders and service providers in the nonprofit world operate on a high-effort/cost, low-reward model, long applications, big proposals, minimum thresholds, and months of waiting. We do the opposite.
Need ₹15,000 to run art classes for 10 underserved kids in your community for two months? We'll find a donor to support you directly with a stipend. Have one compliance question? Ask it, a verified expert will answer within 48 hours. Looking to hire? Post the job for free and improve discoverability.
We keep things small, specific, and valuable. We call this our Chai Kadai (tea shop) approach.
